CITIZENS REQUESTS AND/OR MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS V. DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Board to review expenditures of Open Space funds in the Southwest section of Grapevine. VI. ACTION ITEMS VII. ADJOURNMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S., AS AMSI+TDED BY CHAPTER 227, ACTS OF THE 61ST LEGISLATURE, REGULAR SESSION, 1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND POSTED ON THIS THE 18TH. DAY OF APRIL, 1989. a - DIRECTOR OF P AND RECREATION CITY OF GRAPEVINE >> COUNTY OF TAS AN T' >> STATE OF TEXAS >> The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in regular meeting at 7:10 p.m. on this the 4th. day of May, 1989, with the following members present to -wit: Dick Rawlins Bill Martin Shane Wilbanks City Staff present: Mark Mailes Special Guests Present: Kirt Dennis Grady Lewis Julian Dyke Margaret Telford Alex McKee Joe Moore Bob Modlin Police Chief Deggans The invocation was given by Margaaret Telford. The minutes of March 16th, 1989 were approved. Motion to accept by Julian Dyke, seconded by Margaret Telford. UNDER CITIZENS REQUESTS AND/OR MISCELLANEOUS REPORTS, Announcement of the promotions of Mark Mailes to Director of Parks & Recreation and Joe Moore to Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation. UNDER DISCUSSION ITEMS, Citizen Kirt Dennis requested research into bike/jogging trail plan throughout the City. Handed out a flyer of statements about cycling in Grapevine with a purpose statement and concern that safety he foremost. Announcement of Texas Urban Forestry Award. Report submitted detailing adverse activities in and around the Skateboard ramp. Recommendation based on Police reports of drug activity, gangs, vandalism, foul language and just unrecreational activities taking place around the ramp that the ramp be removed from the site. Grady Lewis gave his deposition on the history of the ramp being progressively more intended toward the criminal section. Generally older teenagers. Discussion ensued on ramp. Concensus was to remove and store ramp on City property until final decision is made for appropriate action. Bob Modlin reported on Clivus Multrum-Waterless toilet to be installed on exercise trail.
