Under citizens' requests and/or miscellaneous reports, Joe Moore gave an update as to TreeFest. The Board will be given a final update and report at the May 17 meeting. Another item was the formation of the Lake Master Plan Committees. An add was placed in the Grapevine Sun to solicit volunteers. Due to the lack of response, possibly caused by the low visibility of the ad, it was discussed to place another ad. Under discussion items, a request by a group of homeowners in the Creekwood Estates subdivision was made. These homeowners all back up to Big Bear Creek. Spokesperson Ed Metters made a presentation requesting a "no opposition" ruling on the property intended to be donated to the city by Joe Wright. Mr. Wright had stated to the group that he had a handshake agreement with the city to donate the property, unless the city changed their mind. In that event, he would negotiate with the homeowners. After discussion, the homeowners were told that their request would be placed on the May 17, 1990 agenda under action items. Under action items, an update to the current Park Master Plan was presented. This update identified natural area along flood plain in the city. After discussion, a motion was made by Jackie Disselkoen to accept the update with a stipulation that the city attorney review it. Ray Payne seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The second action item concerned the department's long range goals and objectives. Although no action was taken, the Board concurred with the staff assessment of potential budgetary requests for fiscal year FY 191. The last action item concerned an item by the Grapevine Sailing Club. This item was requested to be tabled.
