Re: Notice of Public Hearing Case CU23-31, Big Daddy's Ship Store

This written memo is in response to a written notification received by the United States Postal Service
from the Development Services, City of Grapevine post marked November 10, 2023 regarding the above
reference request. The subject is in reference to request for a conditional use permit to allow the
possession, storage, retail sale on and off premise consumption of alcoholic beverages.
As a property owner within 200 feet of the subject tract, I protest this request and have the following
comments.
1. My property line is within a short distance of this business. Darren G Medlin Trail faces the back
of my property. We have had several incidences already of people exceeding the posted speed
limit since I have lived here
2. 1 would also like to reference Grapevine Police Report of January 7, 2023, City of Grapevine
(reference 230000962). This incident took place right next to my property and resulted in
significant damage to my neighbor's parked vehicle. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured. I
feel the approval of this conditional use permit would have an adverse effect on the health,
safety and general welfare of the neighborhood community. Adding another possibility of
purchasing alcohol, from a business that is already selling, increases the risk of impaired driving,
speeding AND increased traffic on Oak Grove Loop and Darren G Medlin Trail.
