The Open Space Committee for the City of Grapevine, Texas, met in regular
session June 24, 1987, at 307 West Dallas Road, in the Council Chambers,
Grapevine, Texas, with the following members present to wit:
Sue Burgtorf Chairman
Ron Cook Member
Kevin Conklin Member
Also present were guests, David Washington, Darly Perry, and Buz Zeigler,
and the following City Staff present to wit:
Adrienne Leonard Attorney, City Attorney's Office
H. T. (Tommy) Hardy Director of Community Development
Marcy Ratcliff Planner
Mark Mailes Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation
Gerrie Taylor Secretary
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Sue Burgtorf, called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.
BLOOMINGFIELD ADDITION
The item of business was for the Open Space Committee to discuss business
pursuant to Section 51, requirements for Open Space and Recreational Areas
for the Bloamingfield Addition, submitted by David Washington.
David Washington, applicant for the owner, explained about the property
that will be developed into 92 lots as R-5.0, Zero Lot Line, east of
Highway 121 which Hall Johnson Road will be extended to the property from
Highway 121. Mr. Washington explained that the land to be dedicated as
park land is located to the far east of the property where there is an
abundance of trees.
Kevin Conklin explained that when there is less than 100 lots,
cash-in-lieu-of is required, but since the applicant is wanting to donate
30,000 square feet, the minimum requirement for park land, the Board is
willing to consider that request.
There was discussion on the property to the east someday being developed
and park land could adjoin this property.

Kevin Conklin stated that the back of the park which would run along the
extended Hall-Johnson Road, would be separated fram the road by the creek
and a chain link fence.
With no further discussion, Ron Cook made a motion to recommend approval to
City Council, Park Land dedication for Lot 27, of the Bloaningfield
Addition.
Ayes: Burgtorf, Cook, Conklin
Nays: None
Ron Cook made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Kevin Conklin seconded the
motion which prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Burgtorf, Cook, Conklin
Nays: None
The meeting was adjourned at 5:10 P.M.
