PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR 460 STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF TARRANT J CITY OF GRAPEVINE I r The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in Regular meeting at 7: 30 P.M. , on this the 11th day of November, 1976, with the following members present, to-wit: Donny Kaker Chairman Gerald Thompson Vice-Chairman Gennie McAferty Member William Shafer Member Ron Armstrong Member constitution a quorum, with Bob Hart ' Director/Parks & Recreation Dept. Tom Gupton Parks Superintendent Ed Morley Recreation Superintendent Donny Kaker called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Gennie McAferty. The minutes for the previous Park Board meeting were approved unanimously. There was no old business to be discussed. The introduction of the new Park Board member, Ron Armstrong was made. Pat Bentley of Road Racing Associates presented a proposal to all those present on the use of Oak Grove Park as a racing course. Pictures of the types of cars used were distributed. The projects feasability was discussed as well as Grapevine' s commitment. The Boards approval/disapproval was tabled until further information can be compiled. Jodi Williamson representing an enterprise from West Germany 160 made a proposal for a novelty water skiing endeavor to be located on Lake Grapevine. A film was shown of existing facilities located throughout Europe. A question and answer period ensued and the Board unanimously voted to recommend the proposal to the City Council. Donny Kaker formally resigned as a member of the Park Board. Gerald Thompson formally resigned as a member of the Park Board. There being no further business William Shafer made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Gennie McAferty, and all present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned.
