1969, THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AGENDA WAS PREPARED AND

The City of Grapevine Parks and Recreation Board convened in
regular meeting at 7: 30 P.M. , on this the 22nd day of June, 15 ly
with the following members present to-wit:
Fred Handy
Buddie Hall
Gennie McAferty
Melvin McGrue
Tom Walker
Neal Odle
Kevin Conklin, Director of Parks & Rec. Dept.
The meeting was called to order by Kevin Conklin.
The invocation was given by Melvin McGrue.
The minutes were approved as read. unanimously.
Mrs . Skinner was present to present a Senior Citizens Building
& Activity report. She presented a slide presentation about
the past trips and activities with Senior Citizens. The
program seems to be going very well and well received.
The playground program is a success especially the arts and
crafts and movies.
Swimming attendance 150 to 200 average.
The maximum crowd after 6: 30-9:00 P.M. is 5 people.
The Capital Improvements program was discussed.
(1) The Rec. Center - $650,000 - a good site would be by Dove
Tennis Courts.
(2) Athletic fields - $445,000
(3) Park acquisition - $300,000
There being no further business Buddy Hall made a motion to
adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Fred Handy,
and all present voted aye. The meeting was adjourned.
