SUBJECT: ONE YEAR EXTENSION FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT CU98-67
SENCOM ASSOCIATES
RECOMMENDATION
Staff has received a request from Ms. Carol Shoquist of Sencom Associates, LLC
requesting a one year extension to the previously approved conditional use permit for a
personal care facility addressed at 401 Boyd Drive and generally located at the
southwest corner of Boyd Drive and Turner Road. Staff recommends Council consider
the applicant's request and take any action necessary.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Conditional Use Request CU98-67 (Ord. 99-35) was originally considered and approved
at the March 2, 1999 joint public hearing. At that meeting the applicant received a
conditional use permit to establish a personal care facility consisting of an independent
living unit, an assisted living unit, and an Alzheimer's unit. The applicant has stated her
intentions to build the facility and is still seeking funding for the project. See the
attached letter.

I am requesting permission for a one year extension to build on the land located at Boyd
and Turner. My plan continues to be to build a retirement community. At this time, the
estimated date for seeking a permit to build will be during the third quarter in the year
2000.
Presently, I continue to seek funding for the project. If you have any questions, contact
me at 214.673.3030.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Carol Shoquist
