AWARD OF BID NUMBER 47-2000 JANITORIAL CLEANING OF
PARKS FACILITIES (ANNUAL CONTRACT)
City Council to consider an award to Mary Lou Gilmore as the lowest and best bid
meeting City specifications for an annual contract for cleaning facilities at various City
parks. A bid tabulation and summary is attached for review. Annual contract
expenditures will be limited to the annual budgeted amount shown below.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in the FY2000 budget in accounts:
100-44540-312-3 General Fund/Park Maintenance/Professional Services .... $196,000.00
BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021, 252.0215, and 252.022.
This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Grapevine Sun on
February 24, 2000 and March 2, 2000.
This bid is for an annual contract to provide janitorial services at various City parks. The
contract will provide fixed pricing for a one-year period with an option to renew for four
additional one-year periods.
The bid was sent to five vendors with one vendor responding. Staff contacted the non-
responding vendors to determine why they did not return a bid. Several indicated they
had a full schedule and could not respond to the requested specifications. Mary Lou
Gilmore has satisfactorily provided this service in the past
Staff recommends approval.
