ADJOURNMENT L State of Texas County of Tarrant City of Grapevine MINUTES The Grapevine Convention &Visitors Bureau Board of Directors met on Thursday, December 11, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency DFW, Grapevine, Texas with the following persons in attendance: Don Bigbie Chairman Ev Barnes Board Member Bill Brink Board Member Kathee Livengood Board Member Paul Slechta Board Member Steve Stinson Board Member Mark Wasiak Board Member Darlene Freed Council Liaison Bruno Rumbelow City Manager George Kakos Assistant Executive Director Ross Bannister Director of Heritage Programs & Preservation ABSENT John Imaizumi Board Member Paul W. McCallum Executive Director CALL TO ORDER Don Bigbie called the meeting to order and recognized board, council, guests and staff. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion to approve the minutes from the November 15th meeting was made by Bill Brink and seconded by Steve Stinson. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS Year End Review Mr. Kakos shared highlights from the Fiscal Year 2007 Year End Review. The entire report is attached. NEW BUSINESS Future Opportunities Mr. Bigbie shared a letter from Mr. McCallum that included recognition of some of this year's accomplishments and a look at some future opportunities. Letter is attached. Recognition of Board Service Mr. Bigbie recognized Phil Cloud for his ten years of service to the CVB Board of Directors and presented a plaque to him. Phil thanked the board for the opportunity to serve. Board of Directors Meeting December 11, 2007 Page 2 of 4 Staff Awards George Kakos introduced new staff members that had joined the team this past year including: Laura Simmons, Michael Miori, Frank Dale, Rebeka Cook, Josh Denton, Megan Matthews, Sara Lorusso, Mindy McLain, Autumn Hamm, Josh Tate, and Becky Gardner. Mr. Kakos presented Director Awards to Rusty Hernandez and Kyle Conway, the "Unsung Hero" award to Betty Torres and the "Rookie of the Year" award to Michael Miori. He also presented the "Joey Wilkins Can Do" Award to David Klempin and the "Employee of the Year" Award to Barry Lewis. Mr. Bigbie thanked the staff and introduced Councilman Wilbanks who shared a few words about the history of the CVB and the accomplishments that have happened in Grapevine tourism.
