VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING IN -PERSON OPTION FAIRWAY DRIVE WIDENING
From SH 26 to Marina Drive

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of Grapevine are proposing improvements
to Fairway Drive from State Highway 26 to Marina Drive in Tarrant County, Texas. This notice advises the
public that TxDOT will be conducting an online virtual public hearing on the proposed project with an in -
person option. The virtual hearing will consist of a pre-recorded video presentation and will include both
audio and visual components. The presentation will be posted online on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at
10 a.m. To log onto the virtual public hearing, visit www.txdot.gov, keyword search "Fairway Drive
Widening" after the date and time indicated above. If you do not have internet access, you may call
Matthew Berrones at (817) 370-3604 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, to
ask questions and access project materials during the project development process.
Additionally, TxDOT is providing an in -person option for individuals who would like to participate in
person. In -person attendees will be able to view the same pre-recorded presentation delivered in the
online public hearing which will be playing on a screen, review hard copies of project materials, ask
questions of TxDOT staff and/or consultants, and leave written comments. The in -person option will be
held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 6 p.m: to 7:30 p.m. at Vine Arts & Events Center, 225 West
Worth Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
For both the virtual public hearing and in -person option, members of the public may call (682)-703-0276
to provide verbal testimony immediately following the conclusion of the virtual public hearing presentation
at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, through 11:59 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024. Formal
written comments may also be provided by mail or email as explained below. All verbally provided
testimony and timely written comments will be considered by TxDOT and included as part of the official
record. Responses to verbally provided testimony and comments will be prepared by TxDOT, included as
part of the hearing and project record, and made available online at www.txdot.gov.
The proposed project will extend 2,700 linear feet from SH 26 to Marina Drive. Fairway Drive will
transition from five lanes at the intersection of SH 26 to three lanes just north of the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineer's property, the intersection of Marina Drive/Treatment Trail will include a single lane roundabout.
North of the roundabout will transition back to the two-lane roadway section. Additionally, a ten foot' wide
shared use path will be added along the west side of the roadway from SH 26 to Marina Drive.
Although additional right of way would be required, no residential or non-residential structures are
anticipated to be displaced at this time. Information concerning services and benefits available to
affected property owners and information about the tentative schedule for right-of-way acquisition and
construction can be obtained from the TxDOT district office at the address listed below.
TxDOT and the City of Grapevine are proposing improvements to Fairway Drive from State Highway 26 to
Marina Drive in Tarrant County, Texas. This notice advises the public that TxDOT will be conducting a
public hearing on the proposed project. The public hearing will be held in accordance with Chapter 26 of
the Texas Parks and Wildlife Code. The project would require approximately 0.11 acres of proposed
ROW from USACE property at the intersection of Marina Drive and Fairway Drive, in Grapevine, Tarrant
County, Texas.
The proposed project would require 0.52 acres of proposed ROW from USACE property on the western
portion of the roadway of Fairway Drive from SH 26 to Marina Drive, in Grapevine, Tarrant County, Texas.
TxDOT anticipates making a de minimis determination for this use under Section 4(f) of the Department of
Transportation Act of 1966. Public comment on the effects of the proposed project on the activities,
features, or attributes of the USACE property may be submitted as described below.
Maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules and other
information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection Monday through Friday
between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Texas Department of Transportation Fort Worth
District Office located at 2501 SW Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76133. Project materials are also available
online at www.txdot.gov keyword search "Fairway Drive Widening".
The public hearing will be conducted in English. If you need an interpreter or document translator
because English is not your primary language or have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one
will be provided to you. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made
to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or are a person with a
disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the public hearing, please
contact Matthew Berrones at (817) 370-3604 no later than 4 p.m. CT, January 15, 2024. Please be aware
that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time for the Texas
Department of Transportation to arrange.
Written comments from the public regarding the proposed project are requested and may be submitted by
mail to the TxDOT Fort Worth District Office, 2501 SW Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76133. Written
comments may also be submitted by email to minh.ngoc.tran@txdot.gov. All comments must be received
on or before Friday, February 2, 2024. Responses to comments received will be available online at
www.txdot.gov keyword search "Fairway Drive Widening" once they have been prepared.

Grapevine Parks and Recreation Director, Chris Smith, presented the 2023 department year-end highlight video
and recap followed by time dedicated for questions and comments.
GCISD Student Liaison Update
Avery Gaudett (GHS) was absent. Christian Ross presented a few updates on her behalf. Updates included the
recent Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) competition in which 30 students advanced to State,
soccer season beginning, basketball standings, and the cheer team received second place at the University
Interscholastic League (UIL) competition.
Audrey Torres (CHHS) was absent, therefore; no report was given.
GCISD Board Liaison
Kathy Spradley was absent, therefore; no report was given.
City Council Laison Update
Paul Slechta provided an update for City Council. Updates included a thank you to the Parks and Recreation
team for their work during the Christmas season and the annual City of Grapevine staff appreciation luncheon.
Parks and Recreation Update
Chris Smith provided a Parks and Recreation update. Updates included Daddy Daughter Dance, Volunteer
Appreciation Brunch, and Settlers Park
Trent Kelley provided an update, which included staffing, the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS)
State Conference, and The REC Aquatic Center resurfacing of the pool, hot tub, and sauna wood and heater
replacement.
New Business
A public hearing was held by City staff from the Public Works Department and representatives from and Kim ley -
Horn: Engineering Planning and Design Consultants and Grapevine Public Works. The purpose of the hearing
was to inform the public of the 0902-90-114 Grapevine Fairway Drive project.
