Attached for review is the bid tabulation. FUNDING SOURCE: Annual contract expenditures will be limited to the annual budget amount approved for this service. BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). The bid advertisement was posted in the Grapevine Sun on November 6, 2003 and November 13, 2003. The purpose of this bid is to establish fixed annual pricing for the purchase of various types of street material such as asphalt, concrete, and cement as required by the Street Division to be purchased on an as needed basis. The bid specifications allowed for an initial one-year contract with four one-year options to renew. If approved this would be the first renewal. The specifications also allowed for any price adjustments due to cost increases to be considered at each renewal period. Council first approved this contract at the January 6, 2004 Council meeting. Awards were made for the items and to the vendors listed below. Items 4 and 7 were not awarded and all vendors no bid item 6. With the exception of APAC-Texas, all vendors have agreed to renew their contracts as shown on the bid tabulation. Each of these vendors has performed satisfactorily during the initial contract period and Staff recommends approval to renew the contract with each of the listed vendors. The item awarded to APAC-Texas will be re -bid.
