SUBJECT: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
Consider appointment of citizens to the City's boards and commissions; consider
Chairman appointments to the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board and the
Grapevine Heritage Foundation; and the Mayor to appoint City Council liaisons to the
boards and City Council committees.
BACKGROUND:
Each year at this time, the City Council reviews and considers citizen appointments to
the various boards and commissions. Notifications of vacancies on the boards and
commissions were published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News,
and The Grapevine Sun. Applications and attendance records for 2004-2005 were
compiled and distributed to the City Council and Staff on Friday, May 13. Applicant
interviews were conducted by City Council panels during the first part of June.
Pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 21, Section 21-28, the City
Council appoints the Chairman of the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 90-17, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation.
The current listing of City Council board liaisons and City Council committee
appointments is attached.
