SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION CITIZEN SURVEY
BACKGROUND:
The City contracted with National Service Research (NSR) to conduct a telephone
survey regarding the facilities and programs managed by the Parks & Recreation
Department. The survey was conducted from April 18 to May 1", 2005. A total of 400
surveys were completed.
The significant findings in the survey indicate that almost half of the citizens in
Grapevine visit parks and/or recreation facilities on a weekly basis. The most frequently
visited parks and facilities are the Community Activities Center, Dove Park, Parr Park,
Botanic garden, hike and bike trails, Meadowmere Park and Oak Grove Park. Also, a
majority of citizens, 85% to 95% rated the maintenance of the parks as excellent or
good.
In closing, attached are copies of the citizen survey that was conducted and of the
Executive Summary of the findings of the survey.
