BACKGROUND: The applicant is requesting a one day (4 -5 -hour) event to be held on July 23, 2005 located at 3400 and 3480 Grapevine Mills Parkway and platted as Lot 1B, Lot 2B, Grapevine Vineyard Addition respectively. Lot 1B is the site of the Ashley Furniture Home Store, and is 4.336 acres. Lot 2B is a vacant lot directly north of Lot 1 B and is 6.174 acres in size. This event is anticipated to draw a maximum attendance of 1500 people. A 9,000 square foot tent will be erected on the vacant lot addressed as 3480 Grapevine Mills Parkway, and portable toilet facilities will be provided. There will also be live entertainment, as well as a radio remote broadcast station. Attached are copies of the application, site plan, liability insurance, as well as a detailed description of the event, including emergency contingency preparations. This will be a one day event (4 hours) and we have provided all of the necessary information and requirements attached hereto to meet all city and governmental regulations. The format for this promotional activity will be as follows: as customers come into the retail store, they will be issued a drawing registration form that meets all standards for appropriate regulations pertaining to give-aways. These registrations will be issued at no charge and no purchase will be required. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. There will be an hourly drawing for prizes to a limited number of winners. The winners must be present to win. A maximum attendance of approximately 1500 people is expected and all other terms of our application for mass gathering permit will be met.
