Tarrant County has advised cities within the county of their planned Transportation Bond
Program and encouraged the cities to submit candidate projects for consideration.
Staff is recommending SH 26 and Bass Pro Drive as projects that meet the criteria of
importance to countywide transportation.
SH 26 is currently under design by TOOT as a 6 lane divided pavement section extending
from Colleyville to SH 114 in Grapevine. The project will include underground storm
drainage, raised center median with left turn lanes, sidewalks on the south side and signal
improvements.
Bass Pro Drive is proposed to be widened from a 4 lane divided pavement section between
SH 26 and SH 121 to a 6 lane divided pavement section. The center raised median and
the majority of underground storm drainage will remain in place and extended to serve the
two new outside lanes. This widening will provided added capacity for access to SH 121
and 1-635 which is the predominant movement.
Staff recommends approval.
