PRESENTATION OF CHANGES TO THE FEE SCHEDULES FOR
THE USE OF RECREATION FACILITIES AND LEAGUE PLAY
Staff recommends the City Council consider approval of modifications to the fee schedules
for the use of recreation facilities and league play. The recommendations are below.
Field Rentals Current Fee Proposed Fee
Baseball/Softball/Soccer w/lights $20.00 hr $23.00 hr

New field rental rates would go into effect when the Spring/Summer 2006 Playbook activities
brochure is sent to residents in early February.

New CAC membership fees would go into effect January 1, 2006.

If the new fee schedules are approved by the City Council, approximately $40,000 in new
revenue per year will be generated. The funds will be used to offset the cost of providing
service. The last time fees for membership at the CAC were adjusted was in November
2002. The last time fees were increased for the Bessie Mitchell Facility, field rentals and
league play was in February 2003. Finally, the last time fees were increased for the pavilions
was in February 2002. Staff surveyed area cities to determine their fees in an effort to make
certain the proposed new fees are in the market. Chris Smith, who will present the item
Tuesday night, will brief the Council on the results of our fee survey.
