SUBJECT: CORRECT TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR
ORDINANCE NO. 2005-81
RECOMMENDATION:
City Secretary recommends the City Council reconsider the motion that approved
Ordinance No. 2005-81 on October 18, 2005, and approve Ordinance No. 2005-81 as
corrected and amended to replace said previously approved ordinance.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2005-81 on October 18, 2005 by a vote of 7-0
amending Chapter 16 Parks and Recreation, Article II, Grapevine Municipal Golf Course
relative to fees. The proposed ordinance correctly reflects the Twilight Green Fee of
$18.00 instead of the $28.00 as was adopted by the City Council on October 18, 2005.
City Attorney John F. Boyle, Jr. has advised that in order to correct Ordinance No. 2005-
81, that was presented and approved by the City Council on October 18, 2005, the
Council must reconsider their motion and approve Ordinance No. 2005-81 with the
following typographical corrections:
Amend Section 16-32 (a)(1) to read as follows:
"(a) Fees Established. Green fees for the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course are
hereby set and established as follows:
(1) Weekdays (Monday through Thursday):
a. Regular Green Fee ......................................................$28.00
b. Twilight Green Fee ..................................................... $18.00
C. Senior Citizen (age 62 and above) .............................. $15.00
d. Junior (age 18 and under) ..........................................$15.00"

In order to correct the typographical error, the City Council must now consider approval
of the proposed ordinance correcting the typographical error. Attached is the proposed
ordinance with the correction in bold print.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS AMENDING THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES CHAPTER 16 PARKS AND RECREATION,
ARTICLE II GRAPEVINE MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE,
SECTION 16-32 FEES; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE; PROVIDING A PENALTY OF FINE NOT TO
EXCEED THE SUM OF FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00)
FOR EACH OFFENSE AND A SEPARATE OFFENSE SHALL.
BE DEEMED COMMITTED EACH DAY DURING OR ON
WHICH AN OFFENSE OCCURS OR CONTINUES;
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the Grapevine Code of Ordinances Chapter 16 Parks and
Recreation, Article II, Section 16-32 (a) is hereby amended as follows and all other
chapters, sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, definitions, phrases and words
of said Code of Ordinances are not amended, but shall remain intact and are hereby
ratified, verified and affirmed:
"(a) Fees Established. Green fees for the Grapevine Municipal Golf Course are hereby
set and established as follows:
(1) Weekdays (Monday through Thursday):
a. Regular Green Fee ...................................................... $28.00
b. Twilight Green Fee ..................................................... $18.00
C. Senior Citizen (age 62 and above) .............................. $15.00
d. Junior (age 18 and under) ........................................... $15.00
(2) Weekends (Friday through Sundays) and Holidays:
a. Green Fee................................................................... $32.00
b. Twilight Green Fee ...................................................... $20.00
(3) Cart, Club, Lesson and Range Ball Fee:
a. Electric Golf Carts:
1. 18 Holes ................................ $13.00 + tax per person
2. 9 Holes .................................. $ 7.00 + tax per person
b. Range Balls (25-30 balls) ................................. $ 3.00 + tax
C. Golf Lessons:
1. Per Private Lesson (plus tokens) ...................... $65.00

(4) Twilight times shall be after 1:30 p.m. during non -daylight savings times and
after 3:00 p.m. during daylight savings times."
Section 2. For marketing purposes, the Director of Golf is authorized to deviate
from the above schedule of fees in order to offer special promotional events such as
reduced green fees during certain hours, green fees inclusive of range balls, food products
and other promotions, with the approval of the City Manager or his designee.
Section 3. If any section, article, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word in
this ordinance or application thereto any person or circumstance is held invalid or
unconstitutional by a Court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance; and the City Council hereby declares
it would have passed such remaining portions of the ordinance despite such invalidity,
which remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in a sum not
to exceed Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) and a separate offense shall be deemed
committed upon each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.

Section 5. The fact that the present ordinances and regulations of the City of
Grapevine, Texas are inadequate to properly safeguard the health, safety, morals, peace
and general welfare of the public creates an emergency which requires that this ordinance
become effective from and after the date of its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained.
Section 6. The fees in this ordinance shall become effective on December 1,
2005.
