SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF REMODELING
SERVICES TO THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 204 S. DOOLEY
ST.
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider approval for the purchase of remodeling services to the property
located at 204 S. Dooley St. from Jamail Construction through an interlocal agreement
with Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative in the total amount of
$38,125.00.

BACKGROUND:
This procurement will be under the Interlocal Cooperation Act, Chapter 791, Texas Local
Government Code that states that any entity participating through an inter -local
agreement satisfies any bidding requirements under State law. Council approved the
inter -local agreement and participation in the Cooperative during the Council meeting on
September 18, 2001. This purchase will be made through the Cooperative's e-
commerce Internet Web site at www.buyboard.com.
The contract will provide HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other remodeling services to
the property located at 204 S. Dooley St. The Dooley St. home, known as the Deacon
House, is being remodeled in order to prepare the property for sale. The Cooperative
has established a job order contract with Jamail Construction for facilities construction,
maintenance and repair. This contract provides for discounted construction services
based on the R.S. Means Facility Construction Cost Data publication and adjusted
based on city cost Indexes and regions of the state.
Staff recommends approval of this purchase from Jamail Construction.
