A. Wilson as third supplier to perform concrete construction services on an as needed basis. A bid tabulation is attached for review. FUNDING SOURCE: 174-43301-090 Street Maint./Annual Maint. & Overlay/Transportation..$100,000.00 BACKGROUND: Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.021 (a) and Section 252.041 (a). Bids were publicly read aloud per the attached tabulation sheet. Notice to bidders was published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram on July 24, 2003 and July 31, 2003. This contract establishes fixed pricing for concrete construction flat work, handicap ramps and vertical retaining walls. The services will be ordered on an as needed basis by the Street Division or other departments as required. Bids were issued to nine vendors with three vendors responding. Bids were taken based on various thickness and height configurations and on unit pricing of square feet for items 1 through 7 and linear feet for items 8 and 9. Of the three bids received, REC General Contractors was overall low bid on all items. Manning Concrete Sawing was apparent low bidder on items 8 and 9 but because of the difference in pricing between the bids received on these two items, staff called Manning and learned that their bid for these items was in error. They bid square feet instead of linear feet. Due to this their pricing could not be determined for these two items. August 27, 2003 (4:33PM) To insure the availability of this service it is recommended that REC General Contractors be awarded an annual contract as primary supplier for all items, that Manning Concrete Sawing be awarded an annual contract as secondary supplier for items 1 through 7 and that Ed A.
