CITIZEN COMMENTS No citizen comments. New Business 1) Robert commented on the executive summary report for the 2nd quarter. The 2"d quarter was very interesting and weather impacted 20 days with covered greens. Rounds, green fees and merchandise was down from prior year, but cart fees were up (due to CF increase). YTD on pace and higher than prior year. Batteries have been replaced in all carts as Trojan stood by their product. We will have new carts in the FY2025. We have had plenty of repairs to the carts due to towing issues. The new carts may have a better towing system, but unlikely. The Grapevine CVB is sponsoring the Texas Women's Open which would bring more exposure to the golf course and city. The course will be closed Tuesday — Friday. The challenges we experienced were weather impacted and we are still trying to balance the demand for outings and everyday public play. The golf shop staff has changed a little in the past couple of months... we hired Kendall Witt as a shop attendant and Lance Venable passed away on April 1st. The GGA is considering renaming their employee scholarship after Lance. There was some talk about moving the wall of fame to the new putting green wall outside the golf shop. The short game facility was approved by the city council. The new facility would include a 3 tiered chipping green, 2 target greens and extend the back 2 tees on the driving range. Lou asked about if we talked to the Corp about the removal of any trees. We discussed some of the trees we could remove or raise the canopies by the new short game facility. Tom asked if there was any private money that was contributed to the project and RS said no. 2) Merlin commented on the golf course conditions. Bermuda growing weather is needed and wanted to start growing grass. We have verticut and brushed the top of the grass to help treat the Poa. If the Bermuda grass on the greens would start growing, it would help the greens putt better and choke out the Poa. Merlin and his crew have scheduled little projects and are preparing for the TWO. TC asked if the crew's responsibilities would change with the new short game area and he said they would have a little bit more to mow than the old area but not much. 3) Archie commented on Persimmon's. The revenue is up from last year. The team is very happy to come to work and want Persimmon's to do well. Reviews online are good as more customers experience Persimmon's. We have booked more restaurant only events than last year (receptions, birthday parties, etc...). Brunch has been a home run on the weekends especially on Sunday's. The execution of tournament food is top notch and comes out of the kitchen very fresh. We have lost some employees for various reasons which is sad, but necessary. All signs are heading in the positive directions. 4) Eric has commented on instruction programs and golf outings. The junior academy continues to grow and David does a great job with them. He has grown so much where he has to divide the class into age groups to give more individual attention to the juniors. The individual instruction among the golf professionals have increased. My Get Golf Ready clinics have continued to be at an all-time high and continue to take lessons and are start playing 9 holes at the golf course. The demand and inquire of golf outings continue. We are trying to find a good balance of good quality outings and regular play. All outings 20 players or more must include food from the restaurant. This is a win -win for both golf and Persimmon's. CONSIDERATION of MINUTES Consideration to approve the minutes from the January 18t", 2024 meeting were approved by a motion by Lou Capone with a second from Dion Christison. ADJOURNMENT Tom Cherry asked for an adjournment of the meeting (5:42pm) and a second was made by Robert Blalock. All were in favor and no one opposed.
