This purchase is to replace the damaged picnic pavilions at Meadowmere Park, Lakeview
Park, Oak Grove Park, Katie's Woods Park and Rockledge Park due to flooding. The
replacement structures will qualify as an improved project. The new pavilions will be
constructed of materials that will be more durable in future flood events.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing Interlocal Participation
Agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271.102, Cooperative Purchasing Program.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to USA Shade. The
Parks and Recreation Department staff and Purchasing reviewed the contract for
departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would

The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board approved the pavilions at the June 16, 2016
