HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 15 - Dove Loop Boat RampMEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: MAY 7, 2024
SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF SEAL COAT AND NEW STRIPING FOR DOVE LOOP
BOAT RAMP
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of repair services for
seal coat and new striping for Dove Loop Boat Ramp from Pavecon for
the Parks and Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Parks Department) and the
Lake Parks Fund for an amount not to exceed $64,344.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is to repair existing asphalt parking areas at Dove Loop
Boat Ramp, seal all asphalt cracks, seal and restripe with a new
configuration of car parking and boat trailer parking. This project includes
both the lower and upper lots at Dove Loop boat ramp. The Public Works
Streets Division did some base repair for the parking lot project but they
don't have the capability to seal coat in-house or do the specialized
striping necessary for the trailer parking at the boat ramps.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buy
Board) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and
Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Pavecon. The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the City.
