SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE OF OUTDOOR LIGHTING
FOR THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider award of a contract to Patco Lamp and Service Company for
the purchase of an outdoor lighting system for the Water Treatment Plant in the total
amount of $23,479.00.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funds are available in the lease fund to satisfy purchase requirements.

BACKGROUND:
This purchase is for an outdoor lighting system for the Water Treatment Plant that will
help enhance the security and safety of the plant. Council approved the budget for this
purchase during the budget process for procurement in the 2003 budget year.
House Bill 197 raised the formal bid limit requirement from $15,000 to $25,000. In
accordance with City Purchasing Policy three written bids were solicited. Because the
total amount was under the $25,000 threshold, an advertisement was not required. A
copy of the bid tabulation is attached for review.
Patco Lamp and Service Company was the lowest bid received and met all of the
required specifications.
Staff recommends approving the purchase from Patco Lamp and Service Company.
