AMENDMENT TO THE TRUNKED RADIO SYSTEM
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
City Council to consider a resolution to amend the Trunked Radio System Interlocal
Agreement, thereby allowing the City of Southlake to join as a full member
FUNDING SOURCE:
No funding is required for this resolution
BACKGROUND:
The Northeast Tarrant County Trunked Radio Consortium currently consists of
Grapevine, Bedford, Euless, Colleyville and Keller. This interlocal agreement allows for
the usage of this radio system by these member cities for public safety and city
department radio communications.
The current agreement also allows for additional municipalities to buy into the system.
On March 4, 2003 the City of Southlake Council approved a resolution, essentially
buying into the Trunked Radio Consortium.
In order to join the system as a full member, the City of Southlake will pay the City of
Grapevine the total sum of $469,775.00. Additionally, Grapevine's portion of the
maintenance contract on this system will be reduced from 1/5 to 1/6 of the overall cost of
system maintenance.
