HomeMy WebLinkAboutItem 11 - 4B Board Appointment MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: BRUNO RUMBELOW, CITY MANAGER q7�L_ MEETING DATE: SEPTEMBER 6, 2016 SUBJECT: 4B ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION BOARD APPOINTMENT RECOMMENDATION City Council to consider the mid-year appointment of Matt Carnes to the 4B Economic Development Corporation Board to fill a vacancy. BACKGROUND During the 2016 Board and Commission appointment process, City Council appointed Cory Halliburton, Kirby Kercheval and Dave Simon to the 413 Economic Development Corporation Board. Matt Carnes applied to the 413 Economic Development Corporation Board, but was appointed to the Building Board of Appeals. After the appointments were made, staff was notified by Mr. Simon that he was moving and would not be able to serve his term, thereby leaving a vacancy on the 4B Board. Council Member Coy has requested Matt Carnes be appointed to fill the vacancy to the 4B Board. Mr. Carnes will be removed from the Building Board of Appeals which will leave two vacancies on that Board. A copy of Matt Carnes application is attached. In Illinois,there was an obvious difference between the cities that embraced rail properly,verses those who did not. What else would you like to tell us about yourself?
