B. Interiors is a sole source provider for the purchase of library furniture and shelving. The total cost of this purchase is not to exceed $164,584.21. An itemized list of the furniture and shelving is attached for review. FUNDING SOURCE: Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 177-42281-011-313/Capital Projects/CIP General 2000 GO Bonds/Minor Tools and Apparatus. BACKGROUND: This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (A). This request is for the purchase of various types of library furniture and shelving to be installed as part of the library addition. The manufacturer who supplied the original furniture and shelving was Library Bureau. This manufacturer was chosen because it is the only provider that can integrate parts with and match existing furniture. The only Library Bureau representative in the North Texas area is L. B. Interiors. Staff recommends approval. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF LIBRARY FURNITURE FROM L. B. INTERIORS FOR THE LIBRARY ADDITION; DETERMINING THAT THE ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE WHEREAS, L. B. Interiors, is the current provider for specialized library furniture and is the sole provider of this type of library furniture that is compatible with the current system that is installed; and WHEREAS, City of Grapevine Staff has been unable to locate anyone except L. B. Interiors who can furnish and install a system that is compatible with the current furniture system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS: Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase and installation of the library furniture from L. B. Interiors not to exceed $164,584.21. Section 3. That the City Manger, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps necessary to consummate the purchase of the authorized equipment, installation and training services provided in Section 2. Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its passage.
