FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Utility Enterprise Fund in an estimated amount of$45,000. BACKGROUND: This purchase is for the repair of the pump and replacement of the motor in Transfer Well 7 at the Water Treatment Plant from A.W. Chesterton Company. This pump had a failure and will be rebuilt. The motor is past the point of repair and needs to be replaced. These pumps move water from the filters to the clear wells for storage before entering the distribution system. This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal agreement with The Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and Texas Government Code, Chapter 791. Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to Humphrey & Associates, Inc. The Public Works Department and Purchasing staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing for meeting the needs of the City. Staff recommends approval.
