Foster, Inc. Contractors, Inc. by the City Council on April 18, 2000. The Notice to Proceed for the project was issued on May 30, 2000. The original time allotted for the contract is 390 days. According to the contract, the Contractor is scheduled to be substantially complete on May 25, 2001. We anticipate that the construction of Phase I (the new addition) will be completed in late February or early March. Change Qrder Number 3 Change Order No. 3 specifically includes seven items. ■ Item A is for the furnishing of materials and labor to install end of panel resource signage. These are signs, which will assist the patrons in locating which library resources are located on specific shelves. The cost for this item is $7,482.38. This item is under budget and will be paid out of the Furnishings and Signage budget. ■ Item B is for the furnishing of materials and labor to install Category 5 Communications data cabling for Telecommunications, Book Security (Checkpoint), Computer Network, Internet, Courtesy Phones, Faxes/Modems, a conduit bank between the Library, Community Activities Center and Convention Center. The cost for this item is $71,555.40. This item is below the budgeted amount allocated in the Owner Direct Expenses budget. ■ Item C is for the furnishing of materials and labor to construct a solid wall from the finished floor up to 42 inches in lieu of a full height glass wall in the General Collection Room, No. 146 adjacent to the Computer Training Room, No. 139. The cost for this item is $ 414.07. ■ Item D is for the furnishing of materials and labor to install a ceiling mounted television and VCR bracket . This item will be located in the staff lounge, Room No 129. The cost for this item is $ 635.98. ■ Item E is for the furnishing of materials and labor to construct and install a Local History Display Case including glass doors and 18" Marlite shelves. The cost for this item is $1,107.90. • Item F is for the furnishing of materials and labor to remove two existing roof top units and replace with two 5 -ton roof heating and cooling units (RTU) including built up curbs. These existing units are approximately 14 years old. The cost of replacing ,.. these two units is $ 10,214.33. December 13, 2000 (3:55PM) Item G is for the furnishing of materials and labor to construct and install the Main Circulation Desk, Reference Desk and two OPAC tables. The cost for this item is $47,703.60. This item is below the budgeted amount allocated in the Furnishings and Signage budget. Change Order No. 3 totals $ 139,113-66. Staff recommends approval. Final Project Completion shall remain June 23, 2001. Execution of this Change Order by the Contractor shall have the effect set forth in Subparagraph 15(d) of the above -referenced Contract.
