- MEMO TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FROM: ROGER NELSON, CITY MANAGER
MEETING DATE: FEBRUARY 19, 2002
SUBJECT: EASEMENT ABANDONMENT — LOT 1, BLOCK 1, GLADE
CORNERS ADDITION
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider adopting an ordinance abandoning a 25 foot wide drainage
easement located within Lot 1, Block 1, Glade Corners Addition, and take any necessary
action.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The owner of Lot 1, Block 1, Glade Corners Addition, has requested that the 25 -foot
drainage easement be abandoned. The easement was dedicated a number of years ago
when the property was undeveloped. The developer of the Glade Corners subdivision has
completed construction of drainage improvements associated with the development. The
new drainage improvements do not utilize the old easement and there is no longer a need
for the existence of this easement.
The Developer has requested that the City abandon the existing easement to clean the
property of unnecessary easements.
Staff recommends approval.
