SUBJECT: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
Consider and appoint citizens to the various boards and commissions; consider
Chairman appointments to the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board and the
Grapevine Heritage Foundation; and consider the City Council liaison appointments to
the boards and City Council committees.
BACKGROUND:
Each year at this time, the City Council reviews and considers citizen appointments to
the various boards and commissions. Notifications of vacancies on the boards and
commissions were published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News,
and The Grapevine Sun. Applications and attendance records for 2001-2002 were
} compiled and distributed to the City Council and Staff on Friday, June 4. Applicant
interviews are to be conducted by City Council panels on Monday and Tuesday, June
17`h and 18`h. Those boards and commissions that are set by the two Council sub-
committees in time for Tuesday night's meeting can be appointed at that time.
Pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 21, Section 21-28, the City
Council appoints the Chairman of the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 90-17, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Grapevine
Heritage Foundation.
The current Council board liaisons and Council committee appointments is attached.
