SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE SALE OF SURPLUS
PROPERTY
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider a resolution declaring property listed in attachment "A" as
surplus and/or salvage and to authorize the sale of these items through sealed bid or
public auction.
BACKGROUND:
The City has ordered and/or received all fleet replacements authorized by Council for
this fiscal year. Attachment "A" includes fleet vehicles that have been replaced and are
no longer needed for City use based on the City's fleet replacement policy. This policy
considers age, mileage, cost of operation and/or life to date maintenance cost.
Staff recommends the approval of the resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE, PROVIDING FOR THE
AUTHORIZATION OF THE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY,
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine is in possession of
items of surplus and/or salvage; and
WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or
salvage property, as outlined in the State Statute, has been met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct
and are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That all items described in the attached Exhibit "A" are hereby
declared surplus and/or salvage.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to conduct
the sale of said property.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on the 18th day of June, 2002.

Surplus and/or salvage property also includes copy machines, miscellaneous computer
hardware, accessories, chairs, park maintenance equipment, projector screens, miscellaneous
office supplies and a refrigerator, all of which have been recycled throughout the City
departments and have been deemed unusable.
