SUBJECT: WORKSHOP / STATE SIGNAL MAINTENANCE TAKEOVER
AND TRAFFIC CALMING
As a part of the budget process for fiscal year 2001-2002, Staff is considering two traffic
related initiatives. The first is a traffic calming program which is a means to reduce cut -
through traffic and speeding on residential streets. The second is the City's assumption
of responsibility for the maintenance and operations of state signals in Grapevine. This
would allow better synchronization of all signals in Grapevine, as well as improved
response times when there are problems with signals.
Both of these initiatives are under consideration for inclusion in the budget.
