SUBJECT: GRAPEVINE PUBLIC LIBRARY — CHANGE ORDER NOS. 8 and 9
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council consider ratifying Staff's approval of Change Order No. 8 and approving
Change Order No. 9 to the Grapevine Public Library Expansion Project with T. W. Foster,
Inc., contractors, in the amounts of $12,514.00 and $28,234.95, respectively, authorize
staff to execute said Change Orders, and take any necessary action.

The contract for the construction of the Grapevine Public Library improvements was
awarded to general contractor, T.W. Foster, Inc. by the City Council on April 18, 2000. The
October 10, 2001 (2:40PM)
Notice to Proceed for the project was issued on May 30, 2000. The original time allotted for
the contract was 390 days.
The construction of Phase One (the new addition) was completed June 12, 2001 and the
Library opened for public service on Wednesday, June 13, 2001. Phase Two (renovation
of the old library and interconnection with all of Phase One) was completed October 1,
2001. The library closed for relocation to the new facility on Tuesday, September 25, 2001.
The completed building opened for service to the public on October 10, 2001.
Change Orders No. 8 and No. 9 consist of several minor alterations/aditions to fully
complete the finish -out on the Library. Change Order No. 8 is $12,5114.00 and No. 9 is
$28,234.35. The work on the change order items was completed so the Library could re-
open on Wednesday, October 10, 2001. Funding for Change Orders No. 8 and No. 9 is
available in the Projects Construction Contingency line item.
Staff recommends approval.

2001. Final Project Completion shall remain June 23, 2001.
