BACKGROUND:
Bids were taken in accordance with Local Government Code Chapter 252, Subchapter
B, Section 252.021, 252.0215, and 252.022. This bid was advertised in the Fort Worth
Star Telegram and the Grapevine Sun on September 6, 2001 and September 13, 2001.
The purpose of this bid was to obtain competitive pricing for the purchase and
installation of a closed circuit television security system at the Police Building and Mills
Sub -Station. The bid was sent to eight vendors with three vendors responding. A pre-bid
conference was held on September 26, 2001 to answer any questions that potential
vendors had regarding the specifications. Five vendors attended the pre-bid conference.
Staff review of the bids received revealed the necessity to rewrite the specifications to
insure adherence to fire codes required for the security doors. Specifications will be
rewritten to separate the camera system from the physical security system and new bid
documents will be issued.
Staff recommends rejection of all bids.
