APPROVAL FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 2002 CAMARO FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
City Council to consider award to Miles Chevrolet for the purchase of a 2002 Camaro for
the Police Department in the amount of $23,996.82.
FUNDING SOURCE:
100-45561-109-1 Insurance Fund/P&L Claims Paid ................................. $23,996.82
BACKGROUND:
This purchase is to replace the pursuit vehicle that was totaled in an accident on July 13,
2002.
House Bill raised the formal bid limit requirement from $15,000 to $25,000. In
accordance with City Purchasing Policy, the Fleet Department contacted three vendors
with only one vendor having the vehicle. An advertisement was not required.
Staff recommends approving the purchase from Miles Chevrolet, Inc.
