APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF
SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE AS SOLE SOURCE
City Council to consider approval of a resolution to declare Epixtech, Inc. a sole source
provider for the purchase of a service and maintenance contract covering Library
software. The total cost of this agreement is not to exceed $17,706.06.
FUNDING SOURCE:
Funding for this purchase is currently available in account 100-44540-101-2 General
Fund/Technology/Professional Services
BACKGROUND:
This procurement will be made as a sole source in accordance with Local Government
Code Chapter 252, Subchapter B, Section 252.022 (A).
This request is for the purchase of software, server, and peripheral maintenance to
support the current software modules that operate as part of the Public Library software
system. The contract is for one year from October 1, 2002 until September 30, 2003.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, MAKING FINDINGS OF CERTAIN
FACTS RELATIVE TO THE PURCHASE OF A
MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT; DETERMINING THAT THE
MAINTENANCE 1S AVAILABLE FROM ONLY ONE SOURCE;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID
CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the City of Grapevine desires to purchase software, server, and
peripheral maintenance to support the current software modules that operate as part of
the Public Library software system; and
WHEREAS, Epixtech, Inc. is the sole provider of the software, server, and
peripheral maintenance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Grapevine authorizes the purchase
of the software, server, and peripheral maintenance for a total not to exceed $17,706.06.
Section 3. That the City Manger, or his designee, is authorized to take all steps
necessary to consummate the purchase of said maintenance agreement.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS on this the 3rd day of December, 2002.
