RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Planning and Zoning Commission consider Tree Removal
Request TR02-02 for property referred to as the "James Tiller Property," platted as lot
2R, Block 1, SH 26/Pool Road Addition, and take any action necessary.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This property, which is located at the western edge of the Grapevine/Colleyville
boundary and sits on the south side of Ira E. Woods Avenue, has been the subject of
failed rezoning and conditional use requests. The owner of the property wants to
remove all paving and other improvements and reclaim as much property as possible
from the floodplain in order to market the property. As a result, the owner of the
property has requested permission to remove 196 caliper inches of trees from the site to
replace them with 198 caliper inches, which will be placed in the two planting areas
shown on the plan. See the attached letter.

In accordance with Section C of the City of Grapevine, Tree Removal Permit Application, and on
behalf of Mr. James Tiller, Owner, of the above referenced property we respectfully request
approval of the removal and replacement (mitigation) of removed trees as shown on the enclosed
"Tree Survey and Tree Mitigation Plan". The Owner desires to accomplish removal from the site
all existing improvements and regrading of the property to reclaim property from the Floodplain
Fringe Area. The proposed regrading is in accordance with the "Conditional Letter of Map
Revision" received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency on February 19, 1999.
The Owner desires to accomplish reclamation of all usable property from the Floodplain Fringe
Area in order to market the property. When an end user (or user's) are found for the site,
development of the property will proceed in accordance with all applicable ordinances.
