SUBJECT: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS APPOINTMENTS
RECOMMENDATION:
Consider appointment of citizens to the City's boards and commissions; consider
Chairman appointments to the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board, the
Grapevine Heritage Foundation, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and the Senior
Citizens Advisory Board; and the Mayor to appoint City Council liaisons to the boards
and City Council committees.
BACKGROUND:
Each year at this time, the City Council reviews and considers citizen appointments to
the various boards and commissions. Notifications of vacancies on the boards and
commissions were published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News,
and The Grapevine Sun. Applications and attendance records for 2008-2009 were
compiled and distributed to the City Council and Staff on Friday, May 16, 2008. City
Council panels conducted applicant interviews July 11 and August 1.
Pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 21, Section 21-28, the City
Council appoints the Chairman of the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board.
Pursuant to Resolution P�o. 90-17, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Grapevine
Heritage Foun�ation.
Pursuant to the Grapevine Code of Ordinances, Chapter 16 Parks & Recreation, Section
16-3, the Mayor appoints the Chairman of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.
The current listings of City Council board liaisons and City Council committee
appointments are attached.
The liaison positions that were held by retired Mayor Pro Tem Ted R. Ware are listed as
being vacant.
