FUNDING SOURCE: Funding will be appropriated from the CVB Unencumbered Fund Balance to account number 115 - 48850- 350 -02 (CVB \Heritage Programs & Preservation \Im prove ments other than Buildings) in the amount of $37,400.00. The Grapevine Heritage Foundation board voted on April 18, 2012, to build a perimeter fence around the Nash Farm property, not in front of the Farmhouse but rather coming off of the picket fence posts on the Southeast and Southwest corners; with a design and use appropriate for livestock. The perimeter fence would also include cross - fencing to keep livestock from the crop area. The materials would be appropriate to the period of significance of Nash Farm and would consist of woven wire, barbed wire and cedar posts with bark left on the posts. The gates would consist of the same materials and be framed with rough cut cedar boards. The historic appropriateness of the fence materials was approved by the Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Grapevine, Texas on April 25, 2012. Likewise, the location of the fence and gates was approved by the Commission on May 23, 2012. Quotes were taken from fence companies that showed a history of building similar fences that would be needed at Nash Farm. Three fence companies submitted quotes for the project. These three bids included Sav -On Fence, Inc. not to exceed $43,000; WB Jones Construction, Inc. not to exceed $48,869 and Sundance Fence & Iron was the overall lowest, responsive and responsible bidder meeting specifications not to exceed $37,400. Grapevine festival proceeds in the CVB 115 Fund Balance would be used to fund the construction. Staff recommends approval JL
