SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION FOR THE DISPOSAL OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY
RECOMMENDATION:
City Council to consider a resolution declaring the property listed in Attachment "A" as
surplus and/or salvage and authorizes their sale through public auction.
BACKGROUND:
This request is to approve a resolution for the sale of surplus property as listed in
Attachment "A".
The City currently has several vehicles, equipment and/or other property deemed
surplus due to budgeted fleet replacements, equipment age or condition and other
surplus property no longer needed for City use. Staff has considered age, mileage, and
cost of operation and/or life to date maintenance costs when classifying property as
surplus.
This auction is for vehicles no longer needed after the delivery of replacement vehicles,
for surplus property such as computer equipment and hardware replaced by newer
equipment and for general property no longer needed for City operations.
Staff recommends approval of the resolution to declare the items listed in the
attachment as surplus and to schedule an auction for their disposal.

RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY
SURPLUS AND/OR SALVAGE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
AUTHORIZATION TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY AT
AUCTION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the City of Grapevine, Texas is in
possession of items that are no longer used and of little or no value to the City and are
described in the list designated as "Attachment A"; and
WHEREAS, the procedure for notification of the owners of surplus and/or salvage
property as outlined in the State of Texas statute has been met.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAPEVINE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That all matters stated in the above preamble are true and correct and
are incorporated herein as if copied in their entirety.
Section 2. That all items described in "Attachment A"to this resolution are hereby
declared surplus and/or salvage.
Section 3. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to
schedule an auction for the purpose of offering for sale all items listed in "Attachment A"
and to obtain the best value possible for these items.
Section 4. That this resolution shall take effect from and after the date of its
passage.
