SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF HYDRATED CEMENT SLURRY FOR KIMBALL ROAD
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider the approval for the purchase of hydrated cement
slurry from Martin Marietta for the Public Works Street Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Transportation Infrastructure Maintenance
budget for an amount not to exceed $59,440.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for Hydrated Cement that is to be applied to the
subgrade of Snakey Lane by Tarrant County.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreements with Tarrant County Texas. Purchases through this program
are authorized under Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and
Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the cooperative and a contract was awarded to Martin
Marietta. The Public Works and Purchasing Department staff reviewed the
contract for departmental specification compliance and pricing and
determined that the contract would provide the best product and pricing
for meeting the needs of the City.
Staff recommends approval.
