Tate Mayor Sharron Spencer Council Member Mike Lease Council Member Duff O'Dell Council Member constituting a quorum sufficient to canvass the election as stipulated in Section 67.004(a) of the Texas Election Code, with Mayor Pro Tem Darlene Freed, Council Members Chris Coy and Paul Slechta being absent and with the following members of the City Staff: Jennifer Hibbs Assistant City Manager Tara Brooks City Secretary CALL TO ORDER Mayor Tate called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. Item 1. Consider a resolution canvassinq the Special Election held on November 8, 2016 to consider the leqal sale of all alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption onlv, certify the results and take anv necessarv action. City Secretary Tara Brooks reported 22,293 ballots were cast in the November 8, 2016 election with the following results: Total Number of Votes For the proposition: 9,778 Total Number of Votes Against the proposition: 11,530 Total Number of Over Votes: 1 Total Number of Under Votes: 984 Motion was made to approve the resolution ratifying the results of the November 8, 2016 election. Motion: Spencer Second: Lease Ayes: Tate, Spencer, Lease, and O'Dell Nays: None Approved: 4-0 November 22, 2016 RESOLUTION NO. 2016-095 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 8, 2016 CITYWIDE SPECIAL ELECTION RELATED TO THE LEGALIZATION OF THE LEGAL SALE OF ALL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOR OFF-PREMISE CONSUMPTION ONLY ADJOURNMENT Motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 5:03 p.m. Motion: O'Dell Second: Lease Ayes: Tate, Spencer, Lease, and O'Dell Nays: None Approved: 4-0 Passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Grapevine, Texas on this the 6th day of December, 2016.
