A moment of silence was observed followed by the invocation led by Christian. Approval of Minutes A motion was made to approve the September 19, 2024 meeting minutes. Motion: Stephens Second: Light Ayes: Ross, Light, Robertson, Townsend, Stephens, Readicker Nays: None Absent: Fenton, McDowell, Cowans Approved: 6-0 Citizen Comments None New Business The following Adopt -An -Area new agreements were reviewed: HistoryMaker Homes A motion was made to approve the new HistoryMaker Homes Adopt -An -Area. Motion: Townsend Second: Readicker Ayes: Ross, Light, Robertson, Townsend, Stephens, Readicker Nays: None Absent: Fenton, McDowell, Cowans Approved: 6-0 The following Adopt -An -Area new agreements were reviewed: Christian Brothers Automotive A motion was made to approve the new Christian Brothers Automotive Adopt -An -Area. Motion: Robertson Second: Light Ayes: Ross, Light, Robertson, Townsend, Stephens, Readicker Nays: None Absent: Fenton, McDowell, Cowans Approved: 6-0 The following Adopt -An -Area renewal agreements were reviewed: Little Helpers of Dallas/Ft. Worth A motion was made to approve the new Little Helpers of Dallas/Ft. Worth Adopt -An -Area Motion: Stephens Second: Townsend Ayes: Ross, Light, Robertson, Townsend, Stephens, Readicker Nays: None Absent: Fenton, McDowell, Cowans Approved: 6-0 Presentation Chris Smith and Trent Kelley presented a Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department update, which included Settlers Park Phase I development, Meadowmere Education Pavilion construction, The REC Performance Utilization Analysis Phase II, Carol of Lights plans, Merry & Bright Drone Show dates, the upcoming Master Plan process, and CAPRA reaccreditation. GCISD Student Liaison Update Christian Ross provided a GHS update on behalf of Avery Gaudett. Updates included the Homecoming Parade, Homecoming football game, the girl's and boy's basketball season start, girl's volleyball is headed to playoffs, tennis teams season end, Goblin Day, and Red Ribbon Week. Audrey Torres was absent, therefore; no student update for CHHS was provided. GCISD Board Liaison Kathy Spradley provided a GCISD update. Updates included homecoming parades, Sam's Club Grand Opening event, VATRE informational presentations, recent NICHE ratings, and the Leadership GCISD program roll out. City Council Paul Slechta provided a City Council update. Updates included Sam's Club donated funds to Grapevine Police Department, Grapevine Fire Department, GCISD, and GRACE during the store Grand Opening event. Parks and Recreation Updates Trent Kelley provided a Grapevine Parks and Recreation update. Updates included the swearing in ceremony of a Grapevine Parks and Recreation staff person who joined the Grapevine Police Department, the Oak Grove Softball Complex will host the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series in 2025, and the annual Grapevine Parks and Recreation full time staff survey. 4 Adiourn A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 7:02 p.m. Motion: Robertson Second: Readicker Ayes: Ross, Light, Robertson, Townsend, Stephens, Readicker Nays: None Absent: Fenton, McDowell, Cowans Approved: 6-0 Recording Secretary — Lara Brown PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE PARKS & ON THIS 2V DAY F NOVEMBER 2024.
