PLANNER II DATE: OCTOBER 3, 2018 SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST CU18-24, LOT 1, BLOCK 1, OPRYLAND RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the Site Plan Review Committee consider the proposed changes to Conditional Use Request CU04-04 (Ord. 2004-17) approved at the February 17, 2004 meeting for a planned commercial center with the possession, storage, retail sale, and on -premise consumption of alcoholic beverages (beer, wine and mixed beverages) in conjunction with a hotel and conference center, specifically to enclose 1,716 square feet of the existing patio and add 2,449 square to the outdoor patio, and take any other action necessary. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The City Council at the May 20, 2003 meeting approved Conditional Use Request CU03-15 (Ord. 2003-34) to establish the floor plan, area of consumption, and storage for alcoholic beverages and building elevations for the Point Restaurant. The City Council at the February 17, 2004 meeting approved Conditional Use Request CU04-04 (Ord. 2004-17) to amend the floor plan and elevations for the Glass Cactus Restaurant (formerly known as the "Point" restaurant). The amendment refined the exterior elevations and established the floor plan for a variety of uses. The Site Plan Review Committee on June 28, 2006 approved Conditional Use Request CU06-23 to allow for a six-foot high, 59 square foot monument sign, located southeast of the restaurant on the subject site. Conditional Use Request CU07-22 was administratively approved on November 7, 2007 to reflect the as built conditions of landscaping on the subject site. With this request the applicant proposes to enclose 1,716 square feet of the existing outdoor patio located on the main floor and add 2,449 square feet to the outdoor patio on the main floor.
