SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF A NEW SKID STEER MODEL CTX160
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the purchase of a new skid steer
model CTX160 from Vermeer Equipment of Texas for the Parks and
Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Lake Parks Fund for a total amount not to
exceed $54,399.
BACKGROUND: This purchase is for a new Vermeer CTX160 Skid Steer to be used in The
Vineyards Campground and throughout the lake parks to assist in
maintenance, construction projects and lake clean-up efforts, particularly
after flood events.
This purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with The Local Government Purchasing Cooperative (Buy
Board) as allowed by Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 271 and
Texas Government Code, Chapter 791.
Bids were taken by the Cooperative and a contract was awarded to
Vermeer Equipment of Texas. The Parks and Recreation and Purchasing
staff reviewed the contract for departmental specification compliance and
pricing and determined that the contract would best meet the needs of the
city.
Staff recommends approval
