SUBJECT: PURCHASING OF REPLACEMENT FENCING FOR DOVE WATERPARK
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval of the purchase for fencing at Dove
Waterpark from Marr Welding and Construction for the Parks and
Recreation Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the Permanent Capital Maintenance Fund (Parks)
for an amount not to exceed $20,000.
BACKGROUND: This proposal is for the purchase of 120 linear feet of fencing to replace
the original wrought iron fence that has rotted at Dove Waterpark. The
replacement fencing will enhance the safety and accessibility of Dove
Waterpark and meet current code requirements.
Informal quotes were taken in accordance with the City Purchasing Policy.
Formal bids and advertisements are not required for purchases under
$50,000. Three quotes were submitted as noted below. Marr Welding and
Construction submitted the lowest quote meeting specifications.
Marr Welding and Construction $20,000.
Llano River Fence $22,900.
Ware $25,870.
Staff recommends approval.
