SUBJECT: RENEWAL OF AN ANNUAL CONTRACT FOR FIRST RESPONDER
UNIFORMS, ACCESSORIES, AND SERVICES
RECOMMENDATION: City Council to consider approval for the renewal of an annual contract for
first responder uniforms, accessories, and services with Galls, LLC for the
Police Department.
FUNDING SOURCE: Funds are available in the General Fund (Police Department) and the
CCPD Fund for an estimated annual amount of$180,000.
BACKGROUND: The purpose of this contract is to establish fixed annual pricing for law
enforcement uniforms on an as-needed basis.
This Purchase will be made in accordance with an existing interlocal
agreement with the North Texas SHARE Cooperative of Texas as allowed
by Texas Local Government Code, Section 271 and Texas Government
Code, Chapter 791. The contract was for an initial one-year period with
four optional one-year renewals. If approved, this will be for the third
available renewal.
North Texas SHARE Cooperative of Texas solicited a Request for
Proposals for first responder uniforms and awarded a contract to Galls,
LLC based on the evaluation criteria stated in the bid. The Police
Department and Purchasing reviewed the contract for specification
compliance and pricing and determined that this contract would provide
the best product, service, and pricing to meet the needs of the City. The
City of Grapevine has used Galls, LLC in the past with successful results.
Staff recommends approval.
