CITIZEN COMMENTS No citizen comments. New Business 1) Robert commented on the 1st quarter revenue numbers. All revenue streams were up in the 1st quarter... green fees up 19%, range up 27% and total revenue up 23% from prior year. The rate increase helped with revenue being up. Persimmon's total revenue was up 23% from prior year. Meghan is booking non-golf events along with having a great team that provides great tasting food. Several successes were brand new golf carts with Lithium batteries with 10 inch tires which everyone loves. We had to slow the carts down to 13 MPH and has a better ride. Lou Capone asked if there were any towing issues and there has not been the past couple of months. Meghan Herrera continues to book non-golf events in Persimmon's and was recently promoted to Assistant Restaurant Manager. The new short game area is open with great results and lots of customers using the facility. Some challenges we experienced was management and staff changes in Persimmon's. We continue to balance the growing demand for outings and wear and tear to the golf course with the continued increase in play. Persimmon's staff has changed... Meghan was promoted to Assistant Restaurant Manager and Molly Melder was promoted to Restaurant Supervisor in December. Merlin was awarded Superintendent of the Year along with Eric being awarded the PGA Professional Development award from the NTPGA section. The awards dinner will be on February 2"d We are looking forward to spring weather and warmer conditions along with the completion of the concourse (on track to be completed before the Texas Women's Open). 2) Merlin commented on the golf course conditions. We are covering the greens on January 17th. They received some bunker sand and have added some sand in 7-8 bunkers. Poa is appearing on some of the greens while the pre-emergent has done some good while the post-emergent has shown no results. They will continue to treat the greens during the winter months. The worse greens are Pecan #3, Bluebonnet#4 & #7. The course is now dormant from the cold weather which is making the course play fast. Lou asked about cutting out the Poa which is a great thought, but not everyone can do it right. It was a bad fall for the irrigation system which is 25 years old. They had drainage issues and will continue to trim trees during the winter months. Ryan asked about what effort it takes to cover the greens. It takes 6-7 hours to cover 34 greens and we like to cover before the wind picks up. The tarps are very heavy and does not handle well in the high winds. MT, RS & EH talk about when to cover, how long to cover and what we communicate to the customer. 3) Meghan commented on Persimmon's. They had a great 1 st quarter with events (both golf and non-golf). The bad weather lately has hurt them, but it is temporary. There are some non-golf events that is keeping them going. She is working with Nico on the top selling items to elevate the overall menu. The management team is working hard and all have different strengths. Mark asked how Molly is doing... she is doing great and has a great customer service personality. She is learning a lot about her new position. Tom told a story about some of his friends commented about Persimmon's Smashburger and tator tots over the holidays. Persimmon's is fully staffed this time of year, but will hire more staff during the busy seasons. Bryan asked about turnover... we don't have much turnover as the benefits are much better than other restaurants. We have good veterans like Kayla that is leading out team with city of Grapevine benefits. Robert explained the different type of employees from part time, to part time regular, to full time. The Bunker will not be open during the winter months and is open during the busy season as needed with a full staff. Madison Trevino was mentioned as she is great employee and maybe looked at for a promotion in the spring. TC commented on the nice staff member who talked to him during the outside breakfast buffet event when the restaurant was unavailable and has to walk around. Great customer service. 4) Eric commented on the instruction programs which continues to grow. David's junior golf instruction program continue to grow which had 19 students the previous practice. 2 He just completed an 8 month long playing series with his juniors at different golf courses and even gave a trophy to the total point earner. They played different golf course throughout the metroplex. Eric continues to receive numerous outing requests and he tries to balance the public play along with outings. He will not book tournaments on back to back days. He is getting a better quality of tournaments and every event with 20+ players must do food in Persimmon's. Several events do breakfast, lunch and drink tickets. Bryan thanked Eric and Robert for hosting the Vanessa Close High School golf tournament for the third year in a row that has several girls' teams from all over the state and some out of state. Ryan asked about the Wall of Fame and Robert is still looking into it. CONSIDERATION of MINUTES Consideration to approve the minutes from the November 18th, 2024 meeting were approved by a motion by Lou Capone with a second from Robert Blalock. ADJOURNMENT Tom Cherry asked for an adjournment of the meeting (5:48pm) and a second was made by Bryan Humphreys. All were in favor and no one opposed.
