during the Board's consideration of the item, upon being recognized by the Chairman or
upon the consent of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board in accordance with the Texas
Open Meetings Act, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is restricted in discussing or
taking action during Citizen Comments.

The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met January 16, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at The Vine Arts
& Events Center located at 225 W Worth in Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit:

Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. A moment of silence was observed followed by the
invocation led by Christian.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made to approve the November 21, 2024 meeting minutes.

New Business
The following Adopt-An-Area new agreements were reviewed: Stroot Rail Consulting
A motion was made to approve the new Stroot Rail Consulting Adopt-An-Area.

The following Adopt-An-Area renewal agreements were reviewed: Club All-Access.
A motion was made to approve the new Club All-Access Adopt-An-Area.

Presentation
Chris Smith presented the 2024 Grapevine Parks and Recreation Recap and Highlight video and provided
additional updates on statistics and projects that were included in the presentation.
GCISD Student Liaison Update
Avery Gaudett was absent, therefore; Christian Ross provided GHS updates on her half. Updates included girls
and boys basketball made it to District, baseball and softball season start, soccer has the upcoming Mustang
Cup Tournament, DECA's recent competition was a success with 15 students selected to proceed to the State
competition, and cheer will be competing in UIL.
Audrey Torres was absent; therefore, no CHHS update was given.
GCISD Board Liaison
Kathy Spradley was absent, therefore, no GCISD update was given.
City Council
Paul Slechta provided a City Council update. Updates included upcoming council place openings, dates for
candidates to file, and the Settlers Park land acquisition.
Parks and Recreation Updates
Trent Kelley provided a Grapevine Parks and Recreation update. Updates included staffing updates, Scott
Hardeman's retirement after 30 years of service, CAPRA accreditation, Phase II of The REC Performance
Utilization Analysis, and the Master Plan RFQ process.
Chris Smith provided a Grapevine Parks and Recreation update. Updates included a holiday season recap,
recent vandalism at The Bark Park, Bold in the Cold was rescheduled to February 1, Meadowmere Education
Pavilion site preparations, The Vineyards Campground and Cabins expansion study, and the E-Z Dock
installation at McPherson Slough Boat Ramp.
