Chris Smith, Director of Parks & Recreation CITY OF GRAPEVINE COUNTY OF TARRANT STATE OF TEXAS The City of Grapevine Parks & Recreation Advisory Board met March 20, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at The Vine Arts & Events Center located at 225 W Worth in Grapevine, Texas with the following members present, to-wit: MEMBERS: ABSENT: Christian Ross Kelly McDowell Roy Robertson Amond Cowans Kerri Stephens Rob Fenton Renee Townsend Robyn Readicker ARRIVED LATE: Lavon Light LIAISONS: Paul Slechta— City Council Kathy Spradley—GCISD Board Liaison (Absent) Avery Gaudett—GHS Student Liaison (Absent) Audrey Torres—CHHS Student Liaison (Absent) Constituting a quorum with the following members of City staff: Chris Smith, Director Trent Kelley, Deputy Director Randy Sell, Assistant Director Park Operations Erin Rodriguez, Events Manager Natasha Gale, Administrative Manager Megan Holladay, Administrative Coordinator Assistant Christian Ross called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. A moment of silence was observed followed by the invocation led by Christian. Approval of Minutes A motion was made to approve the February 20, 2025 meeting minutes. Motion: Robertson Second: Readicker Ayes: Ross, Robertson, Stephens, Readicker, Fenton, Townsend Nays: None Absent: None Approved: 6-0 Citizen Comments None New Business The following Adopt-An-Area renewal agreements were reviewed: Mad Duck Cyclery, Jean Titus, Belfort Homeowners Association, Allen Family, JCH Williams Properties, LLC, Grapevine Young Professionals, and Grapevine AMBUCS. A motion was made to approve the renewed Adopt-An-Area for Mad Duck Cyclery, Jean Titus, Belfort Homeowners Association, Allen Family, JCH Williams Properties, LLC, Grapevine Young Professionals, and Grapevine AMBUCS. 1 Motion: Robertson Second: Stephens Ayes: Ross, Robertson, Stephens, Readicker, Fenton, Townsend Nays: None Absent: None Approved: 6-0 Presentation Staff from Grapevine Parks & Recreation Department presented a Christmas Capital of Texas recap of 2024. Erin Rodriguez presented data analytics for the entire Christmas season as well as visitor data for events put together by the City of Grapevine's Economic Development Department. Assistant Director Park Operations, Randy Sell, provided the board with a recap of key highlights and future planning regarding street closures and maintenance to ensure safety at the event. GCISD Student Liaison Update Avery Gaudett, student liaison from Grapevine High School was absent and the following highlights were shared by Christian Ross. Baseball and softball are both currently performing well with winning records. The Fillies dance team just got back from New York and got to take some amazing classes. GHS's special Olympics track meet was last week and that was so much fun and went great! The girls' Soccer team plays in their playoff game Friday night against Brewer at 5 at Eagle Mountain High School. The boys Soccer team also plays Friday night at Eagle Mountain Highschool against Saginaw at 7. Prom is Saturday, April 12 at the Fort Worth Zoo. No update from CHHS. No update from GCISD Board Liaison. City Council Paul Slechta reported that at the most recent City Council meeting new fitness equipment and other minor purchases were approved for The REC. Parks and Recreation Updates Trent Kelley gave a report regarding the meeting with BRS for the process and timeline of Phase I I of The REC. The City Council approved new fitness equipment and the purchase of new blinds for the front of The REC building. Grapevine Baseball and Softball Opening Day is next Saturday, March 29. Chris Smith reported that the process with selecting an RFQ for the Master Plan is in process and the committee will pick a design professional by tomorrow, March 21. Settlers Park closed on 7 acres of land for future development and the survey analysis has been completed. Chris gave a report on staffing updates.
